Whitehall completely cordoned off amid reports of 'suspect package' Police cordoned off an area near Downing Street following reports of a suspected package this afternoon.
Met Police officers were spotted in Whitehall after they responded to concerns in the area.
According to reports, Whitehall is closed between Parliament Square and Trafalgar Square.
One person said: "Anyone know why Whitehall is completely cordoned off?".
Another commented: "Whitehall has been closed off and horseguards evacuated because of a suspect package."
