Most of us are familiar with Keir Starmer’s political career, but less is known about his wife, Victoria Starmer. In the lead-up to the 2024 General Election, which Keir Starmer’s Labour Party won with a landslide majority, she was spotted on just two occasions — at a Taylor Swift concert at Wembley Stadium and at an election rally in June.

However, Britain’s ‘First Lady’ could soon be playing a more prominent public role following Keir Starmer’s plummeting approval ratings. Sources close to Victoria Starmer have told Tatler magazine that 2025 could see her aligning with a charity or advocating for a cause not directly linked to politics.

Friends said she has ‘the option of reviewing her role when Keir has been in power for a year to see how it’s going – but if it changes, it will be on her terms.’. For his part, the Prime Minister has been keen to make it clear he is an ordinary man from a working-class background, often referring to his toolmaker father.

So what do we know about Keir Starmer, his wife Victoria and their family life?. Victoria Starmer, nee Victoria Alexander, trained as a solicitor and now works in occupational health for the NHS. Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Keir said that Victoria loves her job and that it gives him ‘a direct line of sight on a daily basis into the challenges of the NHS and the morale of the staff.’.
