Emmerdale character Amelia Spencer has left the ITV soap following a dramatic twist. In emotional scenes which aired on Friday, Daisy's character departed the Yorkshire village – as her on-screen father, Daz Spencer made his return after five years away. Despite Amelia not seemingly being in contact with him, she and Daz revealed they'd actually remained in touch and had gotten closer. Now, Amelia planned to move away with her daughter Esther, to live with Daz.
Daisy Campbell previously told The Mirror she was "so sad" to leave, after we exclusively confirmed the departure in October. Speaking previously, Daisy shared more about her final storyline on the show as she prepares to bow out after 13 years. Speaking to The Mirror and other press, she confirmed she was left "grieving" over the news she would be written out of the show, which she joined when she was seven years old. Sharing her "mixed emotions" about her final scenes airing, she once again discussed her upset over leaving after a "tough year".
Teasing new twists as she shared how her character would bow out, Daisy shared her hopes for the future as she talked about her tear-jerking goodbye to her co-stars. She said: "It feels really sad. It's mixed emotions really I think. It’s been such a tough year, and I've had to deal with so much, but I was so at peace when leaving because I've grieved.
"I'm not only grieving for myself, it's a character that I've always played. This is my first ever job from being seven, so it felt really sad. But then it was nice to close the door and be at peace, because I've just allowed it to play out as it has this year.
