A woman has been left stunned after receiving over 63 items of food in a Greggs Too Good To Go bag recently. Too Good To Go has become increasingly popular in recent years. The smart app offers savvy shoppers the chance to grab heavily discounted food that would otherwise end up going to waste.
The only catch? Users are not told what items they will receive, as it depends on the store's stock and what items are nearing their expiration date. So, you could end up with only a couple of items or a bag filled with goodies. It all comes down to luck – so Rebecca O'Brien couldn't believe it when she unwrapped 44 caramel shortbreads, five pastries, six sandwiches, two toasties, two chocolate eclairs, four sausage rolls and a selection of cakes.
The 33-year-old, from Warrington in Cheshire, said as well as feeding her for two lunches, her parents had Greggs for lunch and dinner two days in a row. Plus, she was even able to share some of the leftovers with her work colleagues. One sausage roll would normally set you back £1.30, while a four pack of caramel shortbreads cost £3. What's more, sandwiches range from £2.30 to £3.55 One cream eclair is £1.50, pastries range from £1.30 to £2.10 and cakes are between £1.30 and £3.
The mum-of-one panned a camera to showcase all the items and posted the clip on TikTok. The footage has racked up more than 50,000 views. Rebecca said: "I couldn't believe how much was in there. The bag was really heavy. It was quite embarrassing walking out of the shop. It was about £30 worth of stuff.".
