Woman 'bursts into tears' at work Secret Santa after being given 'worst present ever'

A woman shared she burst into tears at her work Secret Santa after receiving her present. A now viral post from Twitter/X user @chonkychihuahua has seen many ridicule the gift she received and also share their Christmas colleague nightmares. Left with such a poor present that it made her cry, the worker has since received thousands of likes and replies of support for her terrible situation.
Secret Santa is where a person is randomly selected out of a group to purchase a present for the other. There is often a gift price limit but for @chonkychihuahua it appeared little effort had gone into their gift at all. She wrote: "Having such a horrible day and my Secret Santa gift just arrived and it's so terrible I burst into tears when I opened the package." Replying to her own tweet, she then shared a picture of the gift, which has since been mocked as one of the worst gifts the public has seen.
She added: "I'm the lowest paid person here and I still put more effort than this." Attached to her second tweet was a photo of her gift, a small A5 journal which reads "Merry Christmas". The original poster thinks they were hard done by and wondered whether they should complain.
They wrote: "Like I get it's supposed to be about the sentiment but I'm feeling the wrong kind right now." One user replied: "Not even 40 pages. I would've been so mad." Others are now sharing their outrage at lacklustre Secret Santa gifts, saying a heartfelt gesture is not always received in return.
One shared: "Girl I bought my Secret Santa my favourite book and wrote a hand written letter explaining why I liked it and why I think they’d like it. And I got a pair of socks..." While there is usually a spend limit for Secret Santa events, it seems the original poster was not told or did not realise, as they shared just how much they had spent on the event.
