An Oscar-nominated actor and a Marvel veteran are set to star in the new series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. The latest addition to the Marvel franchise unfolds in an alternate timeline where Norman Osborn (Colman Domingo), also known as the Green Goblin, takes on the role of mentor to Peter Parker (Hudson Thames) instead of Tony Stark.
The animation style of the new Disney+ show draws inspiration from the classic Spider-Man comics, with its trailer even tipping its hat to the original Spider-Man theme from 1967. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man introduces viewers to Peter Parker, donning a variety of special suits and new characters distinct from the main MCU.
The Mirror US reports the first episodes will be available on Disney+ from January 29. So, who are the stars of this new Marvel series?. Hudson Thames as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Peter Parker is a high school student who's getting to grips with his powers and designing new suits. This animated series explores Peter's journey in a timeline separate from the main Marvel Cinematic Universe and prior to the events of Captain America: Civil War.
Hudson Thames is an actor and composer, recognised for his roles in Mad Men, I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson and Malibu Country. Colman Domingo as Norman Osborn. Norman Osborn steps into the shoes of Peter Parker's mentor and "man in the chair" role, yet doesn't quite fill the heroic boots of Tony Stark from the main MCU timeline.
