Zinedine Zidane gave a curt response to being offered the Manchester United manager's job. Zidane has been out of work since leaving his post at Real Madrid in the summer of 2021. The Frenchman became one of Europe's top bosses in his time at the Bernabeu, across two spells as manager.

He led Los Blancos to winning a remarkable 11 trophies, including two La Ligas, three Champions Leagues and two Club World Cups. But since departing in May 2021, Zidane has opted against taking over another club. He has been linked with a raft of big teams, including United, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich. But Zidane has instead decided to remain out of the game, as he waits for the France national team job.

According to Marca, United, Juventus, PSG and Bayern have all 'knocked on his door' several times in recent years. Zidane has also been approached by several of the best national teams in the world. But his response to all of those approaches has been a blunt three-word reply of 'No, thank you'. Zidane is instead undertood to be more concerned with helping to progress his children's careers from his base in Madrid.

His only travel is to Paris and Aix-en-Provence, in the south of France, where he runs his 'Zidane Five Club' school, which aims to provide access to sport to young people at risk of exclusion. Zidane only has eyes for two coaching jobs. The first is his long-held interest in the France national team job, having won the World Cup and the European Championship with Les Bleus as a player.
