Zoe Ball has sent a super sweet message to her daughter, Nelly, as she celebrates her fifteenth birthday. The Radio 2 star, 54, who quit her gig at the BBC last month, took to Instagram sharing a montage of photos of Nelly as she wished the teen many happy returns of the day.
Paying tribute to her "best girl", Zoe wrote: "FIFTEEN. Happy birthday best girl," followed by three love heart emojis. Accompanying the message was a carousel of sweet snaps, including family photos with Zoe's son, Woody, and an adorable photo of Nelly as a newborn.
Zoe shares her daughter with DJ Fatboy Slim, aka, Norman Cook, 61, who last month was left red-faced when he accidentally dropped a Christmas tree on Nelly's foot. Telling her Radio 2 followers about the freak accident, Zoe explained that Nelly had ended up in A&E, revealing: " "Sending love to my Nell today. It was supposed to be her last day of school today. But sadly, her dad unintentionally dropped a Christmas Tree on her foot and she had to go to A&E yesterday.
"She had an X-ray but it's okay, it's just swollen. She's going to be alright, but she was supposed to go ice skating with her friends from school today but she won't be able to get her foot in a boot. The things you don't think are going to happen!". Insisting her ex was "very apologetic", she concluded: "He's obviously very apologetic, poor love. This happens doesn't it. Bless her! What a story to tell though, so I'm sending her lots of love this morning.".
Zoe has more time to spend with Nelly and brother, Woody, now that she's hung up her headphones for good on Radio 2. The daughter of TV star, Johnny Ball, shocked fans last month when she announced she was stepping away from the primetime gig after weeks of speculation about her future on the channel.
