As much as you may want to bring your baby everywhere, there are some places that aren't infant friendly - and an MMA gym may be one of them. A concerned mom shared her worries after her husband revealed he wants to take their six-month-old daughter to the gym to watch him work out - despite her many objections.

'My husband is an MMA fighter, and he loves it,' she explained in a Reddit post posted to the r/Parenting subreddit. 'He says he'll let her stay in the stroller and watch him and bring a fold-up bassinet as well if she gets fussy and wants out of the stroller,' she explained.

However, the mom has some concerns - primarily about the doting dad not being able to completely focus on the tot while he's working out - which, she noted, he disagrees with. 'He cannot watch her while he showers, which he denies,' she pointed out. 'Babies get stolen in a split second - if he takes his eyes off her for 60 seconds and looks back and she's gone, it's too late,' she worried.

She also pointed out that heavy equipment could fall on her, as the gym contains regular workout equipment and weights. 'He says he'll put her in an area where there is no equipment, but I've been to the gym and the only location is away from where he would be working out, which brings me back to point number one,' the worried mom explained. The Reddit user then outlined some other concerns, including about the baby needing to be changed or needing a nap.

'He'll have to go into the bathroom, wash his hands/shower, then tend to her. He is expecting this to be no problem,' she wrote. 'This is such a bad idea to me. I understand he wants to share experiences with her, but as a six-month-old, this experience can be had in a few years,' the mom pointed out.

Even though the mom admitted it was a small gym and often it is just him and his coach there, she still didn't want to take any chances. 'She'll never remember this, and it won't do her any good. In fact, it could be very dangerous,' she continued. Users were divided by the dad's request, many arguing they could see both of their points of view.

'In a gentle way this does sound a bit anxious to me. While I probably wouldn't take a six-month-old to the gym because of things like having to stop to take care of a diaper or fussiness, I wouldn't worry about equipment falling on them or being kidnapped,' another assured the woman.

The Reddit user then outlined some other concerns, which were her baby needing to be changed or needs a nap while he's working out, or if she's just fussy (stock image). 'At least at my gym, equipment doesn't regularly fall anywhere and the likelihood of someone planning to go to a gym to workout and then decide to kidnap a baby instead seems very low,' one user responded to the post.

'As a dad, no. It's just not safe. It's not about trusting him or not, it's just not a safe place for a baby. He needs to use common sense on this one,' another wrote. 'A gym going dad here. Your concern is reasonable (you want your baby to be safe) but hear me out,' another response began.

'I'd personally be okay with this if you treat the baby as safely in the gym as any other non-home location that requires being careful,' the dad continued. 'I've seen this happen successfully with several folks, the closest example is a mom brought a six-ish month in to my gym recently. She did weights and calisthenics, the baby chilled out in the stroller. 20-30 minutes in, the baby needed attention, the mom simply wheeled the baby outside and dealt with the situation,' they continued.
