Asda shoppers are eager to get their hands on a new sweet treat dreamt up by Krispy Kreme. The supermarket favourite is known and loved for its extensive line-up of household goods and necessities like food, cleaning products, baby care items and more, as well as its vast array of on-trend homeware, clothing, and limited edition releases.
Founded in Leeds on February 19, 1949, the store is celebrating its 76th birthday today. Asda boasts a loyal customer base, with shoppers keen to snap up a variety of products. Recently, a new iteration of Krispy Kreme doughnuts caught the attention of customers. A photo of the delectable new treat was shared on social media by popular food and snack account New Foods UK.
The account has amassed a devoted following of more than 371K on hit social media platform Instagram, where it regularly shares photos and video footage of new products spotted in supermarkets and shops up and down the country. This typically inspires excited discussions by the masses, happy to share their thoughts and opinions on the featured foods.
Recently, New Foods UK shared an image of Krispy Kreme’s new doughnuts, made with Nestle Munchies flavouring. According to the product description on the Krispy Kreme website, the new sweet treat is “where gorgeously gooey caramel meets our famously fluffy, made-fresh recipe”. The description continues: “Bursting with dreamy caramel kreme™, drizzled with caramel and topped with a much-loved Munchies sweet, our scrumptiously squared superstar is double the fun and double the flavour.”.
The new doughnuts are available in Krispy Kreme shops, as well as a range of supermarkets. They’re also available online via “Nationwide Delivery or Click & Collect” but only until April 8, 2025. Krispy Kreme adds: “Get them while they last!”.
Captioning a photo of them on display at Asda, New Foods UK simply penned: “New @krispykremeuk Munchies doughnuts spotted at Asda!”. People flocked to the comments section to share their thoughts. One person said: “I’m so keen on getting one of those I love Munchies” while another said: “Bought two today for me and my daughter. Very nice, I will be buying again”.
A third simply commented: “Wow” while another shared: “Hands down one of the best flavours they’ve ever done!! They are sooo good!”. One intrigued fan quipped: “I'll take a tray full, please & thanks.” And someone else joked: “Lord have mercy on me for I am about to sin. Hard.”.
The official Krispy Kreme UK Instagram account asked: “Did you treat yourself to one?” While someone else added: “Oh wow, how retro. Haven’t had Munchies in years!!
