Police are appealing for witnesses after a 10-year-old pedestrian tragically died and a 16-year-old girl was rushed to hospital following a horror crash in Bradford. The two girls were on Ransdale Road were believed to have been on their way to visit family when there was a collision with a silver Toyota Yaris. The incident happened at about 6.30pm on Sunday. Medics desperately tried to save the 10-year-old but she died in hospital on Monday morning. The older girl suffered serious but not life threatening injuries and remains in hospital.

The driver of the Yaris, a 35-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody. The local community in West Yorkshire reacted with shock with one describing the little girl as a “beautiful soul”They wrote: “You were a beautiful soul and a lovely student, always will be in our hearts. Gone too soon but always in our hearts.”. An investigation is ongoing and anyone who witnessed the collision or who has any dashcam or CCTV footage that could assist police with their enquiries is urged to make contact via online or by calling 101, quoting log 1285 of 9 February.
