Model turned actress Caprice had a clear motive for working alongside Peter Andre for her latest rom-com movie. The super model, 53, may be known for gracing the covers of magazines but since finding fame, she's appeared in over 300 films and TV shows. More recently, she's turned her hand to directing and producing movies. Her summer film, A Toast to Love, saw her star alongside Katie Price's ex-husband, Peter Andre.
During the film, an archaeologist working on a shipwreck before discovering a love of wine and later sparks a romance with a Spanish winemaker. Pete's character, Carlos falls for Caprice's character, Eliza, after being reconnected with one another. As their spark continues to blossom, Eliza revealed to Carlos that her previous marriages were a failure due to not finding the right person – until now.
Now, sources have revealed why Caprice made the decision to sign Peter for the film, despite only having a handful of films and under his belt. "Caprice had to have Pete in her summer rom-com," a source exclusively told the Mirror. They went on to reveal an insight into their hectic filming schedule, which took place in Ibiza.
Our source continued: "He flew out to Ibiza for 24 hours during his packed schedule to film a few key scenes with Caprice, who as well as executive producer also stars as the movie's main antagonist, Eliza Van Deuzen. Pete's character helps bring out the softer side of Caprice's character, and their natural chemistry on set was undeniable.
"Everyone was talking. At the time of filming, the scene even caused a stir as they were pictured holding hands at dinner—but it was all for the movie! That said, they would make good-looking children." In May, while filming the movie, the Mirror revealed that Caprice believed Pete was the "perfect" person to take the role of Carlos.
Sources told us: "Caprice found the perfect part for Pete in her movie and she has been raving about how great he was. There was no doubt the role was meant for Pete." The insider went on to add: "They had lots of fun on set. The pair are really old pals, and she admires his work ethic too.".
The model chose Ibiza as the filming location for a special reason, admitting the White Isle is like her second home. "She loves the Island and wants to promote the traditional old-school Ibiza which she fell in love with over 20 years ago," the source explained. Very few movies have actually been filmed on the island itself, meaning Caprice had to splash her own money to invest in the movie as well as securing stunning locations for the shoot.
Images of Peter and Caprice walking around holding hands sparked speculation about the pair but the singer was later quick to comment on it as he joked about the true reason. Speaking on Heart Breakfast, he said: "Caprice is an old friend. That is actually a scene from a film, for Hallmark in America. The whole scene is quite good. I'm playing a nice little Spanish man called Carlos. You're going to see me as Carlos, am I doing the accent well? She's an old friend. Obviously Emily knew about this film from ages ago.".
