Emmerdale are set to air devastating scenes this week, as a fatal limousine crash occurs. There are two limousines in the scenes - one full of the girls, and one for the boys. As of yet, it's not yet known which vehicle is in danger as they both steer off track. One crashes in the woods, while another one ends up crashing into an icy frozen lake. With multiple injuries in the car, one unlucky resident ends up trapped under the ice. There's 16 characters 'at risk' as the star in the huge scenes - but who doesn't make it remains a mystery. Speaking on the upcoming scenes, James Hooton, who plays Sam Dingle in the ITV soap opened up on his role in the scenes. "When I first read these scenes, I was really pleased to be a part of it. Sam is quite often there for the light relief so when the atmosphere goes dark it’s good to have that release of someone lighter and more comedic on hand," he said. Saying he felt "honoured" to be a part of it, James continued: "I absolutely loved being part of these episodes and what the design team have created at the Emmerdale car park is astounding.".
Then, dropping a hint, James gushed over how he couldn't wait to see the audience reaction. "The way they got the limo to sink into the ice was amazing and some of the action as it goes down is truly distressing. I would not want to be stuck under that ice. Or was I?" he cheekily teased. Elsewhere, Will Ash, who plays Caleb Milligan in the soap revealed he was 'left hurt in real life' after filming the stunt. Speaking exclusively to the Mirror ahead of the episodes, Will said of the fight scenes between himself and Cain: “It kicks off massively. I hurt myself filming it. I was hitting a bag and was going for it and I managed to hurt myself but I didn’t have to go to hospital.” It comes after Caleb finds out Cain has secretly slept with his wife Ruby.
Despite Cain and Caleb becoming rivals in the show, Will and Jeff Hordley's friendship in real life couldn't be more different. “I’ve known Jeff for 35 years so to get to work with him and play his brother has been a great thing. We used to do plays together when we were just starting out. It feels very brotherly, it’s very easy,” he said. Like this story?
