Ruben Amorim has all but confirmed Marcus Rashford has no future at Manchester United due to issues bemoaned by both Jose Mourinho and Erik ten Hag. Rashford has fallen out of favour under the new manager, who only arrived at Old Trafford from Sporting CP in November as Ten Hag's successor. The 27-year-old, who still has three years left on his current contract, has featured 15 times for the Red Devils this season, last appearing in a 2-1 Europa League victory against Viktoria Plzen back in mid-December.

And speaking after United's 1-0 win over Fulham on Sunday (January 26), Amorim claimed that Rashford wasn't giving "maximum effort" to find his way back into the fold. When asked why he was unavailable for the fixture, the United boss said: "It's always the same reason - the training, the way I see a footballer should do in life. It's every day, every detail.

"If things don't change, I will not change. It's the same situation for every player, if you do the maximum and right things we can use every player. You can see on the bench we miss a bit of pace on the bench, but I would put [Jorge] Vital before a player who doesn't give the maximum every day.".

Vital is Amorim's 63-year-old goalkeeping coach who had previously worked with him at SC Braga and Sporting CP before making his way to Old Trafford alongside the Portuguese coach. And Amorim isn't alone in his opinion of Rashford either, with predecessors Ten Hag and Mourinho previously picking problems with the forward's dedication to his trade.
