An etiquette expert has revealed his take on the proper way to enjoy Hula Hoops, and it's not the popular five-finger method. For years, many fans of the crisps have been eating them by placing a hoop on each finger and then devouring them one at a time. However, William Hanson strongly disapproves of this approach. As the face of Sainsbury's Smart Charge campaign, he shared his thoughts, stating: "That would not be correct etiquette.".

Instead, he advocates for using a spoon to scoop Hula Hoops from a bowl or dish and then eating from your hand, especially when sharing a communal dish, to avoid spreading germs. When snacking alone, William somewhat reluctantly accepts eating Hula Hoops directly from a bag but suggests a more refined approach. "I don't eat a lot of crisps, but if I do, I still put them in a little ramekin," he said.

"I think it elevates it and makes it a bit more of an occasion, rather than just sitting there and eating them out of a greasy bag." William has also shared his insights on proper dinner table etiquette when dining with guests. Before you dive into your meal the moment it's served, etiquette coach William suggests that dining in sync with your mates is the more refined approach.

"We're meant to start and stop at the same time roughly, not to the second, but we sort of have to wait for everyone to have their food," he clarified. "We should pace ourselves and watch around the table to see how everyone else is eating, so we roughly finish at the same sort of time.".
