Consider yourself a Heinz Beanz connoisseur? Well you might want to keep on reading. That’s because, the iconic brand is going to be launching three brand new flavours in UK supermarkets. But there’s a bit of a catch, because those flavours haven’t actually been picked yet, as Heinz is currently waiting patiently for creative Brits to come up with them. Yes, for the very first time in the 125-year history of Heinz Beanz, the company is letting the general public come up with ideas for brand new products, and three of the top entries will become a reality.

If seeing your dream Beanz on shop shelves wasn’t enough of a prize, the lucky winners will bag themselves £5,000 as well as a lifetime supply of baked beans, so you’ll never have to go without. What more could you want?. And getting involved couldn’t be easier. All you have to do is visit the beanzofyourdreamz website and pick three chosen ingredients to create your flavour. There are plenty of options to pick from under categories such as ‘herbs and spices’, ‘fruits and veg’, ‘sauces and pastes’ and ‘dairy and protein’. Examples include everything from mango chutney and maple syrup, to black pudding, or Peri Peri seasoning (we’re not sure we’d recommend mixing some of these ingredients together, but you do you).

Once you’ve made your choices, you’ll need to give your fabulous concoction a name and explain why they are the ‘Beanz of your dreamz’. You can enter the competition from February 18 and it will run for an entire month, so you have plenty of time to wait for your stroke of genius. Just be careful not to make the mistake of coming up with a flavour that already exists, as Heinz has already sold several weird and wonderful Beanz options over the years.
There’s been Heinz Cathedral City Cheesy Baked Beans, as well as Tikka, Chilli, Peri Peri, Jalfrezi and Vindaloo. There were even limited-edition Heinz Beanz Pigs In Blankets which proved to be a pretty divisive recipe. Alessandra de Dreuille, director of meals at Heinz said: ‘Heinz Beanz have been a kitchen staple for nearly 125 years, but we’ve never asked the public to decide what flavour comes next – until now.
‘We know that Brits are already getting creative with their Beanz, so it’s a no brainer for us to get them involved in deciding what the next flavours should be. ‘Whether it’s a spicy twist, a nostalgic favourite, or something totally unexpected, we’re giving Brits the chance to create the next Beanz classic.’.
