House of David, the upcoming drama taken straight from the Bible's pages, is set to make waves. Prime Video will premiere House of David on Thursday, February 27, with viewers worldwide getting a triple treat of the first three episodes. The remaining episodes will air weekly, making up a total of eight parts in the drama series. House of David will chart the journey of David (portrayed by Michael Iskander), who rises to become Israel's most celebrated king after reigning monarch King Saul (Ali Suliman) succumbs to his own ego and pride.

Under God's guidance, prophet Samuel (Stephen Lang) anoints David - a lonely, ostracised teenager - as the new king. As David begins his rise, King Saul gradually loses his grip on his kingdom. David undergoes a transformative journey as he navigates love, loss, and violence in King Saul's court to become the leader he needs to be. A recently released trailer for House of David showcases our unlikely hero answering his call to destiny as he gears up to face the Philistines in God's name.

Viewers will also witness the legendary showdown between David and giant Goliath (Martyn Ford), with the young David using his trusty slingshot to claim victory. The Hollywood-scale footage promises a sweeping narrative filled with drama, grit, and brutality, faithfully retelling the biblical tale, reports the Express. The cast of House of David is spearheaded by the newcomer Iskander, fresh off his Tony Award-winning musical Kimberly Akimbo, marking his first screen credit.

The Egyptian-born star moved to America at the age of nine, quickly mastering English and showing a knack for playing the piano and guitar, as well as songwriting. Iskander shares the screen with Ayelet Zurer as Queen Ahinoam, Indy Lewis as Mychal, and Yali Topol Margalith as Mirab. Additional casting includes Ethan Kai as Jonathan, Sam Otto as Eshbaal, Oded Fehr as Abner, Louis Ferreira as Jesse, Davood Ghadami as Eliab, Ashraf Barhom as Doeg, Alexander Uloom as King Achish, and Aury Alby as Joab.
