Kanye West's Yeezy website has been shut down. The rapper was selling white T-shirts with black swastikas on them for $20 (£16.15) on his Yeezy platform, with Shopify - the ecommerce platform that was hosting the site - confirming they had taken down the shop as it "violated" their rules. In a statement to NBC News, Shopify said: "All merchants are responsible for following the rules of our platform. This merchant did not engage in authentic commerce practices and violated our terms so we removed them from Shopify".
The t-shirts had been the only thing for sale on the now deleted site. If the site is accessed now, it simply says "this store is unavailable" or "something went wrong", confirming it had been shut down. Kanye's Twitter account has also been shut down. If you visit his page now, it simply says "this account doesn't exist". The final message posted to the account before it went down was: "I’m logging out of Twitter. I appreciate Elon for allowing me to vent. It has been very cathartic to use the world as a sounding board.".
It comes after Kanye launched into another vile social media posting spree and claimed: "I'm a Nazi". Fresh from his Grammy Awards controversy, which saw his wife Bianca Censori show up to the red carpet in a 'naked dress', the rapper, 47, shared a number of outrageous posts on Twitter /X and Instagram. In his latest outburst, the Gold Digger star shockly branded himself a Nazi who "loves Hitler". Kanye, who legally changed his name to Ye, posted: "I LOVE HITLER. NOW WHAT B***ES." He quickly followed it up with: "LETS SEE IF YALL GIVE THAT MONEY BACK," before adding: "IM A NAZI.".
On Friday, he shockingly claimed he was racist: "IM RACIST STEREO TYPES EXIST FOR A REASON AND THEY ALL BE TRUE," he claimed as he reiterated previous derogatory comments about Jewish people. "IM NEVER APOLOGIZING FOR MY JEWISH COMMENTS I CAN WHATEVER THE F*** I WANNA SAY FOREVER WHERES MY F***ING APOLOGY FOR FREEZING MY ACCOUNTS SUCK MY D*** HOWS THAT FOR AN APOLOGY," he fumed. He also claimed: "ELON [Musk] STOLE MY NAZI SWAG AT THE INAUGURATION YOOOO MY GUY GET YOUR OWN THIRD RALE.".
