A man has died nearly a week after a fire in a block of flats in London. London Fire Brigade were called to a first floor flat in Venner Road, Lewisham, shortly before 6am on Tuesday, February 18. While only a small part of the flat was damaged by the fire, a man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital.

The fire brigade has now confirmed today that the man has since died. The cause of the fire is now under investigation. Four fire engines from Beckenham, Forest Hill, West Norwood and Bromley attended the scene to fight the fire, which they managed to extinguish by about 7.15am.
