Mom slammed after giving 16-year-old daughter 'measly' allowance for four-day trip to Nashville

A mom has come under fire for giving her daughter an inadequate amount of money to spend on a weekend away. In a now-viral TikTok, which has been the subject of some heated responses online, the woman explained that she gave her 16-year-old daughter $200 to spend on a four-day trip to Nashville.

'We gave her $200 for food, for fun, for a fantastic time,' the mom, who has since deleted the video, explained. 'She goes, "oh no food doesn't count,"' the outraged mother said in the clip, which has been reposted by several people online. 'The $200 was mine.'.

Unsurprisingly, the teen ran out of money and had the use the credit card her parents gave her for emergencies - which the mom was furious about. Several people were horrified by the the mom's fury, sharing their own videos about the encounter online. 'You only gave your daughter $200 to go to Nashville for four days?' one user, @lgvw06, asked incredulously.

Another creator chimed in with their own video stitch, saying she should have given her daughter $1,000 for the weekend to cover any emergencies. 'Mom, hear me out, you should have given her $1,000.'.

She went on to say more money would have accommodated eating, transportation, and being able to take part in activities. The original mom later responded to the heated controversary. 'I have seen all the videos you sent yesterday, and I think $100 is enough,' she said, despite deleting her original video.
