Robbie Williams made a vow to his fans as he gears up for a busy summer. Fresh off the success of his biopic Better Man, the former Take That singer is ready to entertain crowds once again. And one set of fans ready for his long-awaited return is the North East natives.
The Rock DJ star, 51, last performed in the region in 2014 and has apologised for waiting so long to return. In a message ahead of June's Come Together Festival, Robbie promised the event will be "one big party". Speaking ahead of the event, he urged: "Let's make it a night to remember.".
Starting with a jovial "Howay the Toon," Robbie said: "Newcastle, it's been a while. I'm sorry. I'm told a decade since I last played in the North East. On Wednesday, June 4th I'll be headlining the all new Come Together Festival on Town Moor. And let me tell you this is going to be one big party! So, let's make it a night to remember when we come together in June.".
The likes of the Kaiser Chiefs and Little Mix's Perrie are also set to take to the stage at the Newcastle event, as will rising Geordie star Andrew Cushin and entertaining band The Lottery Winners. For Robbie, though, he's not the only one in his family that's set for big things this year. His rarely seen daughter looks to be following her dad into stardom, having secured a role in a major upcoming film. Theodora - better known as Teddy - has been seen filming for a new Christmas movie, Tinsel Town. While she is only 12 years old, Teddy looked more than comfortable as she stood on a street with Hollywood star Rebel Wilson. And it's said she now has her sights on making a career out of acting.
“Teddy was born to be a star - after all, her parents are both the ultimate performers,” a source told The Sun. Alongside Teddy, Robbie and Ayda, who married in 2010, share daughter Colette, and sons Charlton and Beau. It's thought that for the past five years, bosses behind the Real Housewives franchise have been attempting to sign up Robbie and his wife Ayda for the programme too.
During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, he revealed the bold plans, but confessed Ayda wasn’t sold on the idea. "We've asked Ayda to be a Real Housewife of Beverly Hills like five years in a row,” Andy said, while Robbie chanted: "Do it, do it, do it.".
Ayda reasoned in response: "It's a lot of pressure, you've gotta get him on board, you've got to get the monkey on board." Andy wasn’t discouraged her Ayda’s words, and joked: "Rob has to come on and make some sauce like Carrie Ann would. I think you're worried that Rob would get too involved.".
