ITV's Masked Singer has seen the most dramatic UK series yet after singing sensation Macy Gray "stormed off" for being unmasked early on in the competition. The show which aired it's sixth series this year, certainly became a talking point, mainly for the epic off-stage exit but also for dazzling audiences with iconic performances, along with dozens of gobsmacking reveals.

Judges Maya Jama, Mo Gilligan, Jonathan Ross and Davina McCall all came under fire for not outing certain obvious celebrities, such as EastEnders legend Natalie Cassidy. It's safe to say the 2025 series has been nothing but captivating from the get go, keeping online platforms continuously abuzz with fans throwing their guesses out into the public domain, right until the very last unmasking.

Given the show's evident success and soaring viewership, it will come as no surprise to adoring fans that ITV has reportedly given the 2026 series the green light already. According to The Sun, an insider has informed the publication that producers are already on the hunt for star-studded contenders, following viewer ratings rising for the network.

The source said: "After the huge success of the last series and the continued audience it's pulling it, viewers will be delighted to know that The Masked Singer will return for another series next year.". They continued: "The calibre of celebrities has been really high and there are hopes to maintain those levels of celebrities for the next series.

"It's still a fan favourite for the family, and perfect Saturday evening show that has continued to do well year after year.". The programme came to an end last weekend with Pufferfish being crowned the winner and unmasked as West End Frozen star Samantha Barks.

She fended off some stiff competition with soul and jazz star Gregory Porter coming in second place, despite Mo Gilligan identifying him early on. Wolf landed himself third place and was revealed to be Scottish-singer Marti Pellow which was not such a shock to fans watching at home who claimed to have rumbled him from the get go.
