Some viewers of The Traitors were left baffled by someone they thought was a new contestant on Thursday night, who seemingly "showed up" at a random point. In a misunderstanding several viewers were left asking who the person was, seeing them onscreen for what they thought was the first time. Francesca, who goes by Frankie on the show, was shown having a conversation with Leanne and Livi, before featuring at breakfast and the roundtable in episode two.
But viewers claimed to have no idea who she was, asking where she'd come from. Many fans were convinced she wasn't in the first episode and had simply "shown up" a day late, with some even questioning if she was an original contestant. Francesca was there from the very start, but due to editing with the show only being on for an hour, she simply just did not get a lot of screen time. Others also have not been onscreen as much as others, with the focus being on the Traitors and those under suspicion.
This is why it's come across a bit confusing when a supposedly random Faithful is accused of being a Traitor, when we've not seen anything that suggests this onscreen. Francesca herself got a vote this week as a potential Traitor leaving fans baffled, having barely seen her on the show.
Viewers all had the same question when host Claudia Winkleman called out to Francesca at the roundtable, and when we saw her in scenes throughout the latest episode. Many simply wondered who she was and why we had only just started seeing her appear. One viewer posted on X: "Is Frankie an extra they've thrown in for a laugh?" as another posted: "Who’s Frankie?" A third viewer asked: "Has Frankie even spoken so far!?".
