A new Fortnite live event is set to begin very soon, and though there has been some confusion about when it will take place, it's already shaping up to be an exciting one. Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 has been stuffed with things for players to do. There was the total Godzilla takeover featuring the appearance of the Godzilla secret skin, the chance to become the monster in-game, vocaloid pop star Hatsune Miku’s Music Pass taking over Fortnite Festival, and the huge Miku Item Shop bundle. It’s been a very big season, but it has to come to an end at some point – and as the Chapter 6 Season 2 start date nears, we have to brace for some sort of impact.
It’s just as well, then, that a live event is expected to come to Fortnite at some point before the end of the season, set to bridge the gap between this season and Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2, and close out the Demon Hunters story that has been playing out across the island. So, what exactly can we expect from the incoming event? Here’s what you need to know about the incoming Fortnite live event.
The next Fortnite live event is set for Thursday, February 20. We know this as leakers @ShiinaBR and @Wensoing have claimed that the live event will experience 10 days of build up, which will take us to the Chapter 6 Season 1 end date of Thursday, February 20 at 9pm EST / 6pm PST, and Friday, February 21 at 2am GMT. This would make sense, as many live events in the past (like the start of Fortnite Remix Chapter 2, for example) have taken place right before the conclusion of a season, and as the arrival of Chapter 6 Season 2 would come either on or the day after this expected date, we can conclude that this is the best estimate for the date of the Fortnite live event.
Recent theories have claimed that the event will come sooner on Satuday, February 15, as Twitter leaker @Loolo_World has posted, but this relies on the logic that the six skulls that appear at the location of the event, on the mountain just south of Warrior’s Watch, will light up every day. This has not been evidenced in-game, while Shiina and Wenso are more reliable leakers with a more substantial track record.
This season of Fortnite has had a theme of taking assault to invading demons, and we can expect that the Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 live event will follow through on that concept. In the pre-event buildup, we can see Daigo sitting in front of a gradually activating Demon portal as six masks float in front of him, each lighting up and powering the portal until all masks are lit and the event begins.
Questlines leaked by @Egyptian_Leaker have suggested that narratively, a comet has been smuggled through the portal sat South of Warrior’s Watch, and its energy readings are strongest there. In a bid to find it, the portal will open – and we can expect that a fight will be waiting for us. Wensoing’s previous claims indicated that the event will have combat elements, meaning that we could expect a fight of some kind to unfurl, like with the Absolute Doom live event countdown that led to a scrap with a giant version of Doctor Doom. With so many demon goons plaguing the map this season, it looks like we could be taking them out in their hordes in a bid to track the comet down.
