IN a year as excellent as 2024, it can be really difficult to pick out which games are the best. However, having played over a hundred games that launched this year, we think we’ve found our must-buys. If you’re looking for a great game to play from recent years, then we have some games we wish to recommend.
Here are the five best games from 2024. Indiana Jones didn’t make most people’s Game of the Year lists as it didn’t come out until December. However, MachineGames nailed the vibe of a playable Indiana Jones film, with brutal melee combat and puzzle-filled tombs to raid.
Travel the world as the famous adventurer, with all of the humour and action you’d expect from stepping into Indy’s shoes. You can read more in our Indiana Jones and The Great Circle review. Technical issues and a controversial DLC launch kept Dragon’s Dogma 2 off many’s best games lists, but we couldn’t put it down.
It takes the tired fantasy setting, throws it away, and makes everything feel alive with the people of the world acting whether you’re there or not. It’s all about simulations and systems where two players will rarely experience the same quests in their playthroughs.
