The Game Awards showcases 19 games ahead of the biggest gaming event of the year

THE Game Awards are commonly known as the gaming Oscars, but it’s not all about the awards. During the ceremony there are hours of trailers, reveals, and announcements for the biggest upcoming games. Just before the show, The Game Awards teamed up with Day of the Devs to announce some upcoming indies, and shadow-drop some big games.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Day of the Devs showcase. Lok is a puzzle game all about learning a new language in order to solve crossword-style puzzles. Build your vocabulary of the Lok language and complete increasingly complex puzzles to help the Lok creatures thrive.

Lok is out now on PC and will launch on iOS and Android in 2025. A roguelike where sci-fi robots work to build tanks that then take part in warfare. Just like real tanks, you’ll have to use unwieldy tank controls to take down the enemy. Tankhead is out now on the Epic Games Store.

Crescent County is a mix of magical witches and street races, where you speed against friends on your broom. With a strong emphasis on your relationships with the people of the town, it’s a true mix of genres. No release date was given for Crescent County, and a driving (flying?) test demo is out now on Steam.
From the development team behind Hyper Light Drifter, this 3D roguelike is an entirely different genre. Enter procedurally-generated maps, and try to beat the boss, before your lives are up. Hyper Light Breaker will be released in Steam early access in January 2025.
