The latest instalment of A Place in the Sun had funs surprised, as a couple searched for a property on Gozo Island. Looking to buy a holiday home, Nikki and Gordon were helped by presenter Ben Hillman as they looked around potential properties on the island during Tuesday's (28 January) episode.
The couple revealed they had a budget of around £350,000 to splash on a new home, which they wanted to be the perfect holiday spot for themselves and their pet dogs. A Place in the Sun host Ben showed Nikki and Gordon several potential properties, with some looking promising while others weren't quite up to the pair's standards.
Viewers at home were distracted by the prices of the properties compared to Nikki and Gordon's generous budget, as many pointed out that they weren't getting much for their money in contrast to if they were searching in a different location. "#aplaceinthesun£400k for an APARTMENT Gozo. I'd want half the island for that," one A Place in the Sun fan wrote on X, while a second said: "B****y hell I thought they’d get a mansion not an apartment for that money. #aplaceinthesun.".
A third viewer said: "Property 1 in #aplaceinthesun is like the first offer from the banker in #DealOrNoDeal. You just wouldn't... B****y tiny for £360k, too!". Another fan wrote: "With their budget I’d want a bloody swimming pool not a property that looks like a block of flats! #aplaceinthesun," and someone else agreed, adding: "£360,000 doesn’t get you much in Gozo does it #aplaceinthesun.".
