Abandoned dog found shivering at bus stop faces another blow at animal shelter

An adorable dog is searching for a new home in time for Christmas after being discovered all alone at a bus shelter. The pooch, named Parker, was spotted curled up on a bench with his bones showing through his skinny body. The brown and white dog, whose breed has not been identified, appeared weak and malnourished – and likely hadn't eaten anything other than scraps from the road for quite some time. Thankfully, a concerned citizen took pity on him and took him to Chicago Animal Care and Control in Massachusetts, US, for a check up. Sadly, Parker ran into another problem when he arrived at their doors – overcrowding.
Not wanting to give up on him, the rescue centre moved him to One Tail at a Time, where it was discovered he did not have a microchip. A heart-breaking statement from the shelter reads: "A few days ago a shivering dog was found curled up on a bus bench.
"He was brought to Chicago Animal Care and Control by a good Samaritan worried about his health. It was clear he had been through a lot, as his fur is patchy and his skin inflamed. After his stray hold came to an end he was still there with no one looking for him.
"For so many dogs that could be the end but not for Parker. His stray hold ends today, and today we are on our way to get him from the shelter. Parker is about to learn what it means to be safe. To be loved. To be warm. To be healthy. And with any luck, to be adopted.".
Although Christmas is only just days away, the rescue centre hopes he'll be able to find a loving home to kickstart his 2025. His adoption advert reads: "Parker is a perfect house guest! He’s house trained, amazing on leash, and loves everyone he meets. He mostly just wants to play with toys and snuggle. Parker is one special pup!".
