Aldi is changing the opening times of all its UK stores over the Christmas season. Major supermarket chains in the UK adjust their opening hours for the festive season each year, and this year is no different. Aldi confirmed its opening hours several months ago to give shoppers plenty of time to plan their shopping trips around the big day.

Normally, Aldi stores across the country open at 8 a.m. and close at 10 p.m. This will remain the same until Monday, December 23. According to Aldi's website, the chain will open stores a little earlier, at 7am, but they will still close at 10pm. One Christmas Eve - which this year falls on a Tuesday - Aldi stores across the country will be opening their doors at 7am for those who are early risers. The store will be closing much earlier than usual on Christmas Eve at 6pm. This means shoppers will not be able to do a late run to the supermarket for last minute bits on Christmas Eve.

All 1,000 of Aldi's stores will be closed on Christmas Day, and unlike some other supermarket chains, Aldi will also remain closed on Boxing Day. Aldi has done this for several years, saying that Christmas was an "important time" for many of its staff, and keeping its stores closed on Boxing Day allowed them to spend more time with family.

Aldi will be opening its stores again across the UK on Friday, December 27, with slightly shorter opening hours. The majority of Aldi stores will be open from 8am until 8pm between Christmas and New Year. However, Aldi's website warns that opening times are subject to store and region, so they will vary. This means that customers should check the details on the Aldi website before making their trip. You can find your local store by entering your postcode into its store finder tool here.
