Almost half of Brits would prefer to skip February and jump straight into March, dubbing it the 'Monday of all months. ' The gloomy weather and plummeting temperatures are the main reasons many Brits want to erase February from the calendar. Nearly half of Brits admit they feel unmotivated when February arrives, with 30% confessing they've abandoned their New Year's resolutions.
A third admitted that by the second month, they're bored of their goals, while 40% say life starts to interfere after a quieter January. To help the nation fight the February blues, Bassetts Vitamins has introduced its Fun-uary Calendar. The calendar, available through a social media giveaway, encourages people to undertake one enjoyable task each day to boost their mood.
EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy has partnered with the brand. She said: "I've actually never been a big fan of February. Taking on the tasks from the Fun-uary Calendar has brought a bit of joy to each day, which can make a big difference this time of year.".
Despite their dislike of the month, the study found that 63% of adults are keen to make February more enjoyable, with 85% believing that it's the small things that bring the most happiness. Among the top mood-boosters were watching a comedy and listening to a podcast, while moments shared with loved ones brought the most enjoyment.
A huge proportion of people - 80% - say they value time with their loved ones, whether that is a simple hug, a coffee date, or reviving old traditions. According to Hannah Gardner from Bassetts Vitamins: "We know how important it is to encourage people to indulge in a moment of fun each day especially during the bleaker winter months.".
