All nations are unique, and it's fair to say us Brits have our quirks. From unusual foods to tricky language, there are all sorts of things that can confuse people. Now one American living in the UK has revealed which words and phrases leave him completely baffled.

The viral influencer, known as kjordyyy on TikTok, said there are certain terms that just don't make sense to Americans. While some make him laugh, others are just outrageous, as he doesn't understand how they can carry meaning. One of the confusing terms is "chuffed to bits", which he assumes means satisfied, but he still thinks it's a little perplexing. "Gobsmacked" is another word that baffles him, as well as "miffed".

Warning: Below video many contain offensive language. He said: "These keep getting weirder and werider, but numpty. What? Like, these can't be real words. "Two ladies were talking, I think one was talking about her son, and she was like 'he's a real numpty'. Maybe like a fool, or something like that.

"Last but not least, the one I hear the most as well, is jammy. I don't how how jammy correlates to lucky, but I do know it means lucky.". Since the video was shared, it's been viewed over 17,000 times and hundreds commented. It's fair to say the analysis cracked a lot of people up.

One person said: "Come to Liverpool - we have our own language." Another replied: "Take a trip up North - you'll be in for a treat.". A third also added: "Just learnt from the comments that miffed means annoyed and not confused. Only been in the country for my whole 36 years of living, lol".
