Ange Postecoglou was not impressed by the line of questioning from the BBC’s interviewer after Tottenham were beaten by Everton. Tottenham’s miserable form in the Premier League continued on Sunday as Everton picked up a 3-2 win in David Moyes’ second game back as manager. Everton had scored just 15 goals in 21 league games coming into the game at Goodison Park, but led 3-0 at half-time after a fast start.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin opened the scoring and Iliman Ndiaye doubled their lead before an own goal by Archie Gray left Spurs staring at a defeat. They fought back in the second half and goals from Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison made things interesting, but they couldn’t find an equaliser.

Their seventh defeat in the last 10 league games left Spurs 15th in the table and piled pressure onto Postecoglou, who entered his post-match media duties on edge. His interaction with one reporter quickly went viral on Sunday evening, with many fans questioning his behaviour.

“Ange, familiar story, what is your assessment of that performance please?” the BBC’s reporter opened with, only to be pulled up immediately by a frustrated Postecoglou, who replied: “Familiar story?” The reporter clarified: “Well, in terms of defeat.”.

Postecoglou bristled at the response and went back to staring at the floor while giving his answer. “Yeah, OK. A great way to start an interview,” he said sarcastically. “It was a tough result for us and obviously first half, we struggled to get control of the game.
