Ange Postecoglou admitted Tottenham’s season has hit a low ebb after a dismal defeat- and conceded he may not be given time to halt the slide. Ambushed by lowly Leicester, Spurs supporters turned on chairman Daniel Levy - but Postecoglou admitted “a fair chunk” of people have run out of patience with him. Bookies have now installed the Tottenham boss as 1-6 favourite to become the next Premier League managerial casualty.

Postecoglou’s side are still in contention for three cups, but their league form (one win in 11 games) has fallen off a cliff and he admitted: “This is as low as we've been so far this year. But I still think that in these last three months (of the season) we can do something really special and these players believe that.”.

Asked if he will get another two weeks until key players return from injury, the big Aussie shrugged: “Who knows? I reckon there is probably a fair chunk that will say no. When you are the manager of a football club ,you can be very vulnerable and isolated but I don’t feel that. I feel like this group of players are giving everything for the club and I have a group of staff that is really committed. I focus on that.

“But is there anything I can say that is going to change anything that I need to do tomorrow morning? Nothing. Where we are in the league is nowhere near good enough. That's a reflection on me and my coaching, but we still have some fantastic opportunities to make an impact in the second half of the season.

“I have been around long enough to know that some will just judge us on where we are at at the moment, and rightly so in some respects. It’s not good enough. But I’m still very much stuck on the fact that the players are just giving everything they can. They did on Thursday night, they did again today.
