Arsenal have set their asking price for Jakub Kiwior with the club braced for January transfer interest in their versatile defender. Kiwior has made 52 appearances in all competitions since joining Arsenal from Serie B outfit Spezia Calcio in January 2023.

In that time, the 24-year-old has proven an able understudy to William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes at the heart of Mikel Arteta’s defence, while also providing strong cover at full-back. But despite the Gunners’ well-documented injury woes defensively, Kiwior has remained a bit-part player in north London this season.

The Pole started three games in a row at the start of December as Gabriel struggled with a knee injury but has been an unused subsitute in the last three games. The emergence of Myles Lewis-Skelly as an option at left-back has knocked Kiwior further down the pecking order, with reports suggesting that several clubs are interested in trying to lure the defender away from the Emirates this month.

Napoli have long-been credited with interest in Kiwior, while other reports suggest that Marseille may be keen to explore a transfer. And according to The Telegraph, Arsenal may be willing to let the defender leave but will demand a fee of at least £20million for the Polish international.

Kiwior is not the only defender who could leave the club in January with left-back Kieran Tierney reportedly closing in on a return to Celtic. The Scot has long been deemed surplus to requirements by Arteta, but the Spaniard was coy when asked about Tierney’s potential departure this month.
