Formidable businesswoman and Dragons' Den star Deborah Meaden has hit out at "utter lowlife" in a social media post. The multimillionaire has been contacted by a fan who asked her to clarify whether the BBC show was advertising "baloney". He shared a screenshot of a fraudulent advertisement which had been shared by a fake Dragons' Den Facebook page. The post appeared to endorse a weight loss product that could see people "lose 12kg in 2 weeks".
In a somewhat contrasting caption, it also said that people could lose 10kg in three weeks, and featured a photo of Deborah. The social media user asked the Dragon on X, formerly Twitter: "Is @BBCDragonsDen advertising baloney like that?. "@DeborahMeaden they have your image there too! What is this? I do not believe that it is authentic, or is it?" Deborah quickly replied: "No… it’s a complete and utter lowlife scam..", and in a plea to fans she added: "please report. I have and so have many others", before referring the person to her "pinned tweet".
