Anita Rani abruptly ended her house hunt on Escape to the Country moments after spotting a crucial detail. The hit BBC programme featured the TV presenter in a star-studded episode this past Friday night, with property guru Alistair Appleton pulling out all the stops to help Anita track down her ideal countryside dwelling.
Having graced our screens on Countryfile for nearly a decade, Anita is ready to pack up her life in East London for the serene settings along the Kent and Sussex shores. Supporting her venture is her pal, and interior design maestro Shaun Clarkson, who's quite familiar with the area.
Anita came to the search armed with a healthy £875,000 budget. She was after a two-bedroom home that boasted charisma and one vital amenity: an inspiring view to fuel her writing ambitions. She was also keen on finding somewhere spacious enough to entertain friends and family, and while willing to embark on a project, insisted the location must allow for quick trips back to London within an hour and a half, reports Wales Online.
Alistair had cued up a series of potential matches, though he faced a steep challenge as Anita confessed, "The truth is I don't really know what I want yet, so I'm probably quite a difficult brief for Alistair.". But just minutes into touring a cottage in Hastings, East Sussex, it became apparent that the celebrity's home might not be the perfect fit.
