BBC Escape to the Country couple make quick U-turn after being 'blown away' by mystery house

An Escape to the Country duo were initially lost for words when they checked out the mystery house, but turned the tables on presenter Nicki Chapman with their unexpected change of heart. In the Thursday, January 2 episode of the BBC series, Nicki stepped in to guide a young couple through their bid to ditch their London apartment for a greener lifestyle in the East Midlands.
Tech whizz Jo and her partner Andy, an expert in golf sponsorship, were seeking the rural dream and it came out pretty quickly, as Andy shared: "It certainly was very early into our relationship when Jo revealed she wanted to move.". He spilled, "In fact it was probably about eight minutes into our first date, it was a topic of conversation that she is a country girl at heart and that is where her future lay.".
The lovebirds, who met on a dating app, were looking for a detached 3/4 bedroom property oozing charm, armed with a hefty £750,000. Their checklist highlighted a roomy kitchen-diner or two sizeable separate spaces complemented by a pair of home offices, reports Wales Online.
A substantial garden or some land topped their desires, coupled with convenient road and rail access for those London commutes. Nicki had her work cut out showing homes to impress and things looked shady when the pair didn't initially warm up to the surprise property.
