But something close to her heart was lost when the vegetation fried: a lemon tree her mother gave her before she passed away last year. Blanca had planted the tree to honor her mother and even put a bench next to it for moments when she needed to find peace. 'It's gone, it will likely never flourish again, and thought it was just a lemon tree, it was close to my heart because my mother gave it to me to always remember her.

'We liked to drink lemonade together on ice with honey and she gave me the plant so that I could always have fresh lemons and think of her after she was gone. 'I know it is not a big deal compared with what other people lost, but it hurt my heart.'. Her friends already went out and got her a new lemon tree, however. 'That is the power of love, that my friends would do that for me, that they know how much that lemon tree meant to me and they pitched in and got me a lovely tree means the world to me,' added Blanca.

'That shocks the body,' said the cover girl who was recently at an Emilia Perez event with pal Zoe Saldana. 'My body is not used to having a ton of carbs but it is hard to completely cut them out. So if I have carbs once a week my body does not get used to them and can process fast. If you have carbs every day, your body doesn't process them as well.'. Staying in shape is important to the actress as she tells DailyMail.com she has learned a new way to work out. She does strength training instead of intense cardio - and she does it at home as well as the gym. Blanca has landed the January 2025 cover of L'Officiel. 'As we get older, we lose muscle mass; that’s called sarcopenia. So it is important to keep muscle mass up,' she told DailyMail.com. Sarcopenia is a condition that causes a progressive loss of muscle mass, strength, and quality in older adults.

'When you maintain muscle mass then you not only look better but you move better and your risk for injury is lower.'. She added: 'So I have been focusing on mobility, strength, and stability. It is so easy to do, I keep free weights at home and at the gym I use the machines. It is a must for me now.'. She also lost 10lbs earlier this year by giving up meat and is instead eating fish and chicken. 'I think it is has been really good for my waistline because my dresses are all loose now!' she told DailyMail.com. 'And I don't miss the steaks which can be too heavy sometimes.'.
