A spokesperson for Stockport Borough Council said: ‘We are aware of the distressing incident that took place at Reddish Vale School and we understand the concerns being shared by parents, students, and the wider community.

‘I’ve told school that I won’t be sending my daughter to school until I know what precautions have been put in place to keep our children safe.’.

A parent who has a son at the school told Metro: ‘As a parent I feel like I can not leave my 11-year-old son to walk there and home from now on and my son is very anxious after what has happened.
