The couple decided to give things a go last month after weeks of trying to deny their feelings. Earlier this week, the women enjoyed a spa date together, but Lisa was left hurt when Carla failed to correct Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) on the status of their relationship.

Carla was quick to assure her girlfriend that she wasn’t ashamed of being with a woman, but was keen to keep things on the down-low until they were ready to announce their relationship. However, things took a turn the next day when Lisa let her jealousy get the better of her during Carla’s meeting with a handsome client.

Following her outburst, Lisa admitted that she believed Carla was in denial about her sexuality, and though Carla insisted she wasn’t, she explained that she didn’t want to deal with everyone gossiping about them.

When Lisa pointed out that that was just playing into people’s prejudices, Carla agreed not to hide their relationship anymore. In tonight’s episode, the opportunity to reveal their relationship came sooner than expected for Carla and Lisa, when Kirk Sutherland (Andrew Whyment), Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) and Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) arrived at the flat unannounced.
