This article contains spoilers for tonight’s Coronation Street, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on ITVX. Carla Connor (Alison King) was left terrified in recent Coronation Street scenes when her health took a turn for the worse.
The factory boss feared that she was once again suffering from psychosis when she began experiencing hallucinations, but it later transpired that her condition wasn’t related to her mental health. Carla suffered a psychotic episode in 2019, after the factory roof collapsed killed her soon to be sister-in-law Rana Habeeb.
In 2023, she believed that it was happening again when serial killer Stephen Reid continually drugged her with LSD. Familiar with the symptoms, Carla was terrified that she was having another psychotic episode in tonight’s episode, and good friend Roy Cropper (David Neilson) was also deeply concerned.

Carla was rushed to hospital, where doctors revealed that she was suffering from sepsis from an infection in the wound on her head. Viewers will remember that Carla was attacked during a break-in at the factory in November, and ended up hospitalised with a bleed on the brain.
