Kimberly Hart-Simpson has revealed the touching parts of Celebrity Hunted that will always stick with her. The former Coronation Street actress, 38, took part in the Channel 4 programme alongside her friend and fellow soap star, Danielle Harold, who found fame on EastEnders. The series which was filmed in the summer of 2023 took 18 months to hit screens as the string of famous faces raced across the country, attempting to go incognito.
With just 14 days to compete and hide across the UK, the celebs were hunted by individuals from the police and military – who all possessed skills to find people, with even the slightest clue enabling them to track people down. The celebrity edition of the popular programme raises money for Stand Up To Cancer and Kimberly revealed that she was moved by the generosity of people who helped and shared their own stories.
"It's incredible, first of all for the reason as to why it exists, Stand Up To Cancer," Kimberly exclusively told the Mirror. She went on to add: "I went on the run with one of my friends Danielle, she left EastEnders the year that we did it, so that was great. What an experience of a lifetime, the things I've seen, the things that we did, I can't say too much but it's one of the best shows I've worked on.
"The team, the seriousness to it, it's very serious – you are on the run, make no mistake, this is really happening. Of all the things that I could've written for my life, being on the run was not one of them, but I'm so glad I did it." Having filmed the programme some time ago, Kimberly revealed that she was blown away by the kindness of strangers.
