“As is standard in an officer involved critical incident, a Salt Lake County Officer Involved Critical Incident Protocol team is handling this investigation.
West Valley City Police said: “At about 5:12 pm on January 1, 2025, police dispatchers received a 911 call from a home at 3310 west Enterado avenue.
The footage showed the moment the officer walked in and found the suspect still stabbing a body - believed to be one of his parents - on the ground.
Officers also encountered the adult son of the deceased couple who also lived at the residence and is the suspect in the deaths of his parents.
