Dancing On Ice's Chris Taylor has broken his silence after his professional partner, Vanessa Bauer, was forced to quit the show. In a huge blow for the Love Island star, Vanessa, 29, announced she couldn't carry on with the current series just hours before Sunday's live final after sustaining a nasty injury backstage. Taking to Instagram saying she was 'so upset' over having to leave the star-studded series, Vanessa praised Chris, 33, for all his hard work on the ice. Responding to her message on his Stories, the reality star said the skater had a "very annoying brother for life", posting: "Whilst I'm here, let me tell you something about this woman. She is hands down the most committed, determined and inspirational person I have ever met. She gives everything 3000% and it's been an honour to be taught by her. Very, very sad we didn't get to finish this together, but you've got an annoying brother for life now.".
Vanessa leaves Dancing On Ice in another huge blow for the primetime show after comedian Josh Jones also withdrew after he sustained an injury in rehearsals. Updating fans on her accident backstage, Vanessa said: "I'm here today with rather upsetting news. I am unfortunately not going to be able to continue on Dancing on Ice with Chris. That's really upsetting for me. I have trained Chris since October last year and it is always such an amazing achievement for myself to see someone else progress so much in a skill they've never done before. So it's been really rewarding for me to watch this whole journey for Chris [and] the way he's got better week since October and also since the live shows started.".
Vanessa then told fans she had no choice but to leave after an MRI scan revealed multiple injuries. She said: "I unfortunately had a little accident backstage last week on Dancing on Ice just before the live show on Sunday. And I didn't realise how bad it was then, but we did an MRI and it turned out that I have a completely torn ligament, grade three sprain injury and a major grade two sprain injury. I shouldn't be skating on an injury like that and so I'm taking all of the advice from the medical professionals here, I am in very good hands.".
Dancing On Ice contestant, Ferne McCann, who was booted off the show last week, was one of the first to send their well wishes to Vanessa, as she replied: "Oh darling [heartbreak emoji] devastating news for you. Health comes first. Wishing you a speedy recovery.". WHATSAPP GROUP: Be first to get the juiciest celebrity news to your phone by joining our Celebs WhatsApp here.
