During his time in the jungle, Danny was incredibly open about his emotions and mental health as he discussed struggling with anxiety since he was 19 years old. Speaking on the High Performance Podcast, Danny said he struggled to 'digest' the fact that the public had voted for him personally whereas normally he hinds behind his guitar or is with his bandmates, Harry Judd, Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter.
Danny said: 'Do you know what, without getting too emotional now, there was a moment after the show, and I went to check in the welfare team. 'I'd just been crowned King, and I was on an absolute high, had the crown on still, I hadn't really connected with anybody on the outside world by this point and she was like "how do you feel being voted?".
