EastEnders fans were left shocked after a recent episode when Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) used some choice words to describe Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) in a pre-watershed instalment of the BBC soap. Ravi brought an end to the iconic villain’s reign of terror on New Year’s Day, when he pushed him over the edge of a balcony to his death.
Earlier this week, Ravi described his emotions in the lead up to the fatal push, telling Denise Fox (Diane Parish) that he wanted to ‘choke the old b******’. The swear word caught the attention of fans, who shared a mix of amusement and shock. ‘Did Ravi just say b****** ?? It’s before the watershed lol,’ user @Villaboy89 wrote on Twitter/X, while @wattspanesar added: ‘PRE WATERSHED B******?? Angie Watts would be proud.’.
@MrJackMcLaren joked that Ofcom may have a busy day ahead of them, writing: ‘You watch everyone be complaining to Ofcom now because EastEnders used the word ‘B******’ at 7:57pm.’. Another account pointed out that this isn’t the first time the word has been used on-screen since the new year.
‘We’re only three episodes into 2025 and the b****** count is already at two,’ user @TVaddict2025 joked. Nish’s death came after a long storyline that saw him attempt to destroy Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) and Eve Unwin’s (Heather Peace) relationship.
