EastEnders fans were in for another dramatic episode on Wednesday night, as the ‘who attacked Cindy’ saga continued. As things progressed, Anna revealed she had hidden the shovel used to attack her mother. Reluctant to report her daughter to the police, Cindy and The Beales headed to The Vic to speak to George, who confirmed he had moved the shovel somewhere safe - with a sneaky Junior overhearing the conversation.
When going to fetch the shovel to hand it to the cops, George had revealed the weapon had gone missing, and at the end of the episode it was revealed Junior had taken it back to his flat. Meanwhile, Cindy made a surprise visit to Phil Mitchell to ask him for a gun for protection, terrified she was under threat by someone who wants her dead. However, Phil refused stating he “doesn’t like her” and “never has.”.
Tearing into Phil, Cindy doubted he even still had the gun at all and to prove a point, Phil opened up the safe and showed her the gun. Unbeknownst to Phil, Cindy had noted down the code to the safe. Could the sighting of Phil’s gun allude to a shooting in the upcoming 40th anniversary? Some fans think it may be Cindy who’s behind the weapon this time. “Phil's gun will probably land Cindy in prison when the time comes,” penned one fan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Another fan took to Reddit to suspect: “I think it will tie into Cindy’s storyline, with her paranoia growing. She’ll steal the gun from the safe and, in a panic one night when she hears someone entering the Beales’, accidentally shoot someone (ie) Peter, thinking it’s her attacker come to finish the job.”.
