If you use Freeview to get your fix of nightly entertainment, there's some bad news. The free-to-use service has just announced a trio of changes that include one terrestrial channel shutting down for good. GINX TV first launched in July 2024, offering Esports content such as live gaming events, news, and lifestyle programming from around the world 24 hours a day.
Sadly, after less than a year on air, the team behind the channel has decided to call time on the over-the-air service. Right now, you can't view GINX TV, but it will be switched back on via Channelbox in the coming weeks. It's wort noting that this is only viewable via an internet connection and not through the aerial on your roof.
Explaining more, GINX TV told Mirror Online: “GINX TV would like to clarify that we’re not closing down and remain committed to serving our Freeview audience. Whilst we are making changes to our Freeview distribution services we will no longer be available on channel 282, however, we are excited to announce that GINX TV will be accessible on Freeview through ‘Channelbox’ on channel 271.
"The move to Channelbox enables GINX to continue delivering what we do best: the latest gaming news, live gameplay streams every weekday, and exclusive esports events from across the world. We want to thank our loyal Freeview audience for their continued support and assure viewers that GINX remains your home for all things gaming on TV.”.
