It's fair to say that Gavin and Stacey fans are full of festive cheer as the iconic sitcom gears up for its grand finale on Christmas Day. The internet erupted this weekend after the first trailer dropped during the Strictly Come Dancing finale. Social media users have made it clear they can't wait for Gavin, Stacey, Smithy, Nessa and the whole crew to return to Barry Island for one last time.

But, amid the excitement, there's a curiosity about some familiar faces we haven't seen in a while. If you're among those strolling down memory lane, rewatching the series from the beginning, you might wonder about the fate of the show's early stars. Well, ponder no more because we've got the lowdown on some of Gavin and Stacey’s "forgotten" actors. Here's what they've been up to recently...

Father Chris was brought to life by William Thomas, a familiar face within various TV shows. Viewers fondly recall Father Chris getting irked with Gavin over his indecisiveness about his favourite sandwich during a church service – a scene that still tickles fans.

Since his stint on the show ended in 2010, Thomas has been busy with roles in Alys, Steeltown Murders and, recently, Lost Boys and Fairies. Ted was portrayed by actor Anthony O'Donnell in the show. He was often seen as a family friend of the Wests', and he had a soft spot for Gwen's neighbour, Doris. You might recall him attempting to dance with her at Gwen's memorable birthday barn dance.
