The Masked Singer UK was rocked as a celebrity stormed off stage instead of revealing their identity. The hidden star was seemingly disappointed to have been voted off the ITV singing competition, and instead of going into the usual unmasking, they just walked away.
In dramatic scenes set to air on Saturday’s show, the contestant – who is either Pufferfish, Bear, Toad in the Hole, Wolf or Bush – will be seen storming off. ‘It was absolutely bonkers,’ an audience member told The Sun, revealing how the gutted world-renowned star didn’t take off their mask as planned before singing for the last time.
‘But instead this character turned around and shuffled off stage, which was hilarious in their costume obviously — but we were all stunned,’ they continued. Host Joel Dommett, 39, used his skills as a stand-up comedian to keep the crowd occupied, while a source said producers were working backstage to try and coax the star back out to finish filming.
‘We knew something was going on because we saw lots of to-ing and fro-ing with crew,’ the audience member said, revealing that ‘person eventually came back on stage’. Those in the studio were ‘even more intrigued’ to find out their identity, while the outlet has not published the name of the celebrity in question.
